About Abbie

Hi I'm Abbie and I think I'd be a great fit for your family! I started babysitting when I was about 12 and throughout my high school years I would work with kids with disabilities at my school and I continue that work as a substitute teacher! I also have nannying experience with a family on the Upper West Side who have a 5-year-old girl and 2-year-old boy. The boy has developmental delays and is nonverbal so I would assist with his speech and occupational therapy as well as picking them up from school, assisting with dinner, and getting them to and from activities. One thing you should know about me is that I absolutely love music! I study musical theatre at the Manhattan School of Music and love singing and dancing. Whenever I'm working with kids I always put on music in the background (my favorites are Raphie and Disney)! I'm a very empathetic person, so if a child is feeling any kind of "big" emotions I'm good at getting on their level to solve the problem!
