About Alena

I began my career in childcare at age 19, in the infant room at Henderson Christian Academy. After several years, I returned to the academy as a lead preschool teacher following the birth of my daughter. I hold numerous certifications in child development and childcare, including CPR certification, and I am currently pursuing my Child Development Associate (CDA) credential. I have experience managing up to 12 children independently and up to 20 children with a co-teacher. In my role, I create a safe and welcoming environment, deliver age-appropriate curriculum, and ensure children receive nutritious meals. I am skilled in building strong connections with children, using positive behavior management techniques to foster their coping and self-regulation skills. Becoming a parent myself has deepened my understanding of balancing nurturing care with clear boundaries. I am comfortable working with children of all ages and personalities, and I genuinely enjoy being a childcare provider.
