My roommate for the first two years of college had a Maltese-bichon mix puppy who I took care of quite often. I would take her for walks, feed her, and helped potty train her on a regular basis. None of this was paid, but I got some wonderful pet-care experience and helped a friend out when school became demanding, so I call that a win-win! I love all animals. I've had pet birds in my home growing up as well as a dog named Teddy. I'm best with smaller birds and parrots; the most experience I've had has been taking care of my pet cockatiel, Gertrude, who had some health issues. We adopted her when she was older, so I have experience with older birds with anxious dispositions.
