About Alyssa

I am a firm believer in collaborative problem solving. From my work with children with autism I have found that talking to the children instead of assuming what is upsetting them is the best way to gain their trust and have them behave well. I have found that specifically asking what the child needs/wants from me in that moment and then explaining what it is that I need from them allows us to brainstorm solutions to solve the problem. This makes the child feel like they are really part of the decision process and they are often much more agreeable. I am available for babysitting and would especially like to connect with a few families who would like to have regular sitting or date nights with a consistent babysitter.
