I cared for my 94-year-old dad after he had a stroke, which caused hemiplegia on the right side of his body. My dad loved when I pushed him in his wheelchair around the neighborhood to get him out of his bed and get fresh air. His VA benefits enabled us to have a daily home aide, who I shadowed and learned from. I know proper lifting techniques, including using a Hoyer lift. I am happy to help with prescribed occupational/physical therapy exercises, as well as prescribed speech exercises. I am willing to run light errands to pick up toiletries, groceries, and prescriptions.
