About April

I am a passionate educator who focuses on addressing students' individual needs and learning styles. I have a Master's Degree in Special Education, as well as a background in Psychology and child development. I began working with children at a young age and have spent my life pursuing a career in which I could have the greatest impact. After acquiring a Bachelor's in Psychology, I spent several years working in the mental health field before transitioning to focusing my whole self on education. I began by supporting students in a Special Education paraeducator role and teaching third grade general education in a private school district. To further my development and effective education of students, I earned my Master's Degree in Special Education and Teaching Certificate in December 2021. I am currently a Learning Support Special Education teacher in Vancouver, Washington and am continuing to seek out opportunities to support students in individual and small group settings as a tutor.
