Experience working with senior care, more than 10 years in children care, and pets. Caring for others is often the best part of the job. Even if they have their cranky days you develop a wonderful bond. As a caregiver, I found it rewarding. Working with elders, children, and pets is a commitment that takes patience, especially with seniors. Coming into their home and supporting as close to normal as in their prior life is a challenge. Many have lost so much. Being able to complete the basics, like feeding themselves, toileting, and even using their television control is challenging for some of them, and also is all so frustrating for most to accept, so we the caregivers must be compassionate. It is important to keep our seniors involved in everyday life events for them to feel supported and relevant. In my experience is essential to establish a trusted relationship and a healthy routine for the day, when caring for seniors, children, and pets.
