I am a 1st-grade teacher and have had a wide range of teaching experience stemming from pre-k-3rd grade and special education. I am a Golden Apple Scholar, which is a teaching award and have had outside training besides just my college experience. I went to Illinois State University, where I received my bachelor's degree in Early-Childhood Education (Birth-3rd grade) and I am currently pursuing my reading specialist certificate. In addition to teaching 1st-grade, I tutor after school 2 times a week. During this time, I work with a small group of students on literacy and math skills, to ensure they are ready for the next grade level.
