About Catherine

I have been caring for children since I was in middle school babysitting. From there my experience has involved extensive nannying hours, as well as full time teaching in the public school district of Philadelphia. I have been teaching private voice and piano lessons for over four years and hold a Masters degree in Music Education. I am a consistent mentor and friend though I have a strict sense of behavior management. My philosophy is that a child should be given constructive opportunities to learn through play in a nurturing environment. I am seeking opportunities to incorporate music within my day spent with children as well as enriching activities mixed with plenty of play. I am loving and understanding and I have a wonderful interest in caring for children! I have cared for my cognitively impaired and epileptic brother for 15+ years and teach both autistic, emotionally and physically impaired students. I have great interest in caring for children with special needs, if needed.
