About Cheryl

Having been a Early Childhood Educator at College of the Canyons, learning center and intern studies as a Master Teacher and CA Mentor Teacher 1994 to 1999, I returned to the COC in Fall 2019 part time. During the gap years, I homeschooled my three daughters. My oldest is now completing her BA, my middle is entering college. Now that my youngest is in HS, I am seeking a full time schedule. I specialize in Infant/Toddler and in Special Education. As a homeschooling mom I taught group classes, leading Multi-Subject/Art/Science in PK-3rd grade and assisted in all other subjects K to 12. In our homeschool group I was know as the Field Trip Diva. I believe children are innate learners. I believe in the wonder of play and outdoor environment are powerful teachers. I believe when children are engaged in their learning they are capable of amazing things and will become lifelong learners. I am enthusiastic to help and encourage your family through the teaching challenges during these times.
