I looked after my mother who had Alzheimer's for 10 years while also providing care and companionship to other seniors with varying needs. For example, I performed advocacy, financial tasks and was general and medical POA for a centenarian, while, for other elders, I was just their trusted friend and helper. After my mother passed, instead of returning to the corporate world, I worked briefly at a memory care assisted living facility to learn more about different types of dementia and then worked in home care administration. I also became a Hartford Hospital hospice volunteer. I know from experience that it can be hard to find trusted and capable home care workers who treat the elderly with respect, especially when dementia is involved. I am motivated to provide the type of care I both provided and sought when caring for my mother. I am college educated, compassionate and a great communicator. Let's talk about how I might help you.
