About Devon

Hello, my name is Devon. I am currently filling a maternity leave for another nanny through Christmas, but will be available after that. I have the Red Cross for Adult/Child/Infant First Aid/CPR/AED, Red Cross Advanced Childcare Certification, and Red Cross Water Safety for parents and Caregivers. I am an educator and mom with a BA from SUNY New Paltz and a Masters in Education from Mount Saint Mary College, and certified to teach Secondary Social Studies in NY. I am a former Adjunct Professor @ RCC. I love children of all ages and have 2 of my own, 1 in elementary and 1 in college. I enjoy outdoor and indoor healthy activities. I have my own transportation and enjoy taking children to The Discovery Museum, Trevor Zoo and Maritime Aquarium. However if you prefer your children remain home, outdoor walks, making our own playdoh, or pizza dough is always very fun too. As a teacher in NY I had a fingerprint State required background check in order to get my teaching certification.

Devon has been our full time nanny for 3 years, caring for not only our toddler and infant but our dog, our home, and us as well. She is fantastic with our children, planning activities and creative ways to direct their attention, build positive routines and behaviors, and develop eating, dressing, and potty skills. She plans activities to do with them at home, as well as outings and adventures to the library, children's museum, and aquarium, sending us photos throughout the day. Devon also cleans and maintains our home, and takes the initiative to take care of whatever is needed around the house, mending a torn stuffed animal or pillow, fixing a broken door, or switching out car seats. Devon shows remarkable resilience during all of the challenging parts of childhood and brings a cheerful attitude to everything she does. Our youngest will be joining their older sibling at school soon, but we are so grateful to have had Devon as part of our household for the last 3 years.
