About Dianne

My first client was an elderly lady with Alzheimer's/dementia. When I started with her she was living in the independent side of a stages of life facility. I was with her for 5 years, through assisted living and finally the nursing home and up to her last days in the hospital. My second client was a blind man who wanted to stay in his home as long as possible. We were able keep him there for a year and a half. What I loved most were the stories I heard and knowing that I helped them remain in their most comfortable environments until it just wasn't possible any more, then helping with the transition into the next phase. Growing up, my mother was a nurse, always in nursing homes and rules were more lax then so I would hang with the patients while she was working, so I've spent a lot of time in these environments. I'm happy to just be a companion, or to help with cleaning, shopping, appointments etc. I don't just go home and forget about work, I research the health issues of my patients, I try to figure out what they're interested, I watch for bad reactions in medication changes, I do everything I can to help.
