tl;dr - Hire her. Elissa has been watching my son since he was 3 months old. He's a year now, and they are best friends. I'm finally sending him to make new friends at daycare in January. She has always cared for him the same way I care for him. There is so much love in her. Even through his terrible, colicky stage - she was patient, gentle, and kept him happy and me sane. I swear, if my kid wasn't at the stage where he really needs more social stimulation from other kiddos, I would 100% be keeping Elissa. And as soon as my mat leave ends with the next kid I am hiring her right back. Elissa is family. We love her so much.
