Ela (Elzbieta) cared for my mother for 7 months in 2023 as my mother was in the final stages of her life dying from cancer. Ela is an exceptional caregiver and I recommend her without reservation. She is a very competent caregiver for the following reasons: she is warm and kind, she is patient, she takes initiative but is comfortable following directions, she has good judgment, she knows how to help without overstepping, she is trained as a nurse so has helpful nursing skills and knowledge, she is smart and confident, she is calm under pressure, she is a reassuring presence in a time of stress, she is positive and encouraging, she is respectful and helps maintain the dignity and independence of the person she is caring for. She helped with driving to appointments, shopping, meal preparation, light cleaning and laundry, bathing, administering medicine, and toileting. Ela was reliable and always showed up early to work and made herself available as needed. She struck the perfect balance of being attentive, while also giving my mother the space to live her life as normally as possible, right up until the end. We felt incredibly fortunate to have had Ela’s help at our time of need.
