Hello! I'm a former elementary school teacher with a Masters degree in Teaching English. I have taught in both public and private schools, but enjoy working one-on-one with elementary school children the most! I cater lessons to each individual students' needs and interests in order to make learning fun and maximize students' success. I am Orton-Gillingham trained and use a structured literacy approach to teaching reading and other language skills. I'm also a published author and illustrator, and love helping students with creative projects! I have formerly held a California single subject English teaching credential and a New York ESL K-12 teaching credential.

My wife and I are both educators so we know a real-deal teacher when we see one. Emily is the real deal. She's all about the science and art of teaching reading. She came in with a diagnostic to assess my 8-year olds learning and a clear methodology for teaching reading and writing, and then built a plan to strengthen their skills. Best of all, my twins (who can be real critics) LOVED Emily. They loved her so much they insisted on writing their own reviews. Here they are: From E (8): Five Stars!
