About Emma

I am a 25-year-old freelance writer and MFA candidate in nonfiction writing at NYU. I am also an alumna of Grinnell College where I graduated Phi Beta Kappa in 2018 with honors in Political Science and Environmental Studies. I have experience creating unique and engaging lessons for students of various ages. Specifically, while living in Boston, I worked as a tutor for a family with two high-schoolers and one fourth grader, working on reading comprehension, writing, and math skills. Prior to that, I spent one summer writing environmental education lesson plans for an Evanston, IL elementary school, through which I learned to make learning accessible to all students. I was recently selected to serve as a graduate instructor at NYU, so I will be teaching creative writing to undergraduates. My tutoring services are especially strong in the language arts, writing, Spanish, history, and social studies, however I am also strong in the sciences. Thank you for your consideration.
