I became a caregiver for the very first time in 2014. The gentleman I cared for was a stoke victim and needed assistance transferring from sitting or laying down to wheelchair, assistance with walking, bathing, dressing, meal prep, and housekeeping. I worked for him for just a little over a year. My next experience was with an elderly couple. The husband had dementia and needed full care and his wife needed basic care. I worked with both of them for a year and a half until the husband passed and I continued working for the wife for 4 more years!!! By the time I stopped working with her she needed full care and her son moved her with him. I also worked at a Memory care and Assisted living facility and I worked on both units for 5 months until Covid came about. I have taken the last year off because I had a baby last July but I am eager to get back to working. I absolutely have a calling to be a caregiver. It's just what God created me to do. I love the work and the elderly.
