About Erica

I am currently an elementary special education teacher. I enjoy caring for my students and love having a rewarding job where I get to watch my students grow to be the best they can be. However, if I didn't take the route of teaching, I would have loved to care for the elderly! I thought this would be the perfect opportunity for me to try out both. I have cared for an elderly man over the weekends for a family friend and it brought me joy knowing he wouldn't have to be alone during those times. Although I don't have any type of nursing certification, I enjoy bringing that companionship to the elderly. I genuinely enjoy learning from them and think it's important for them to know they are not alone at this stage of life. I know a lot of families where it is hard for them to be home all of the time with their elderly parent, so that's where I come in! I am able to cook, clean, follow directions on what to do in case of an emergency, and simply just make sure they are comfortable.
