About Erin

I'd describe my personality as encouraging, empowering, and friendly. I like working with kids because my passion is to see them succeed. I'm looking for a job where I can support children and young adults academically in tutoring writing, history, and possibly other subjects. I also help students with college application and scholarship essays as well as earning early college credit while in high school. I started working with kids when I taught Latin and writing in a private school 20 years ago. I like to spend time with my adult children and extended family. One thing you should know about me is that I homeschooled all of children, 3 of which are now college graduates. Additionally, I have taught in NY/NJ homeschool groups for 20 years. I also do college planning. My skills include teaching students how to plan before working through assignments which gives them the tools to confront any academic challenge. In all subjects I aim to teach mastery.
