About Esme

Hi! I'm taking a step back from teaching and moving back home, which means I've got a wide open summer schedule and I'm looking to take on some extra babysitting/nannying. I have over 6 years of experience working with children in varying capacities, including extracurricular activities, daycare, babysitting, nannying, teaching, and in summer camp type settings. Some more about me - I lived in Everson, WA from the time I was born until I was 18, then I attended the University of Washington in Seattle, where I double majored in Education, Communities, and Organizations and Political Science. I graduated in 2020, moved to Chicago, and for the past three years I've been a special education teacher for Chicago Public Schools. My childcare style - I always want kids to be happy and have fun, so I try to follow the kids' lead as much as possible. I love any excuse to get out of the house whether that's going to the park, programs at the library, the zoo, etc.
