About Haidy

Colombian immigrant, mother of two, and passionate advocate for children. I have a degree in Journalism and three years of law school from Colombia under my belt. Currently finishing an online Certificate of Childhood Psychology and Emotional Intelligence. When I arrived in the United States, I prioritized raising my children until they were school-aged. I then volunteered with HISD for five years and the Boy Scouts for seven years. With limited opportunities to practice journalism, I decided to dedicate myself to my passion: working with children. Over 10 years of experience working as a nanny with children of all ages, from babies to school-age children. I believe that every child is unique and deserves to be loved and cared for in a way that nurtures their individual needs and strengths; That it is important to provide them with opportunities to explore their interests, develop their skills, and learn from their mistakes; and teach them about respect, kindness, and compassion.
