I'm a former Student-Athlete with ample experience in working with children. I attended the University of Minnesota for undergrad. My major was Youth Studies in the School of Social Work. During that time, I volunteered at The Boys and Girls Club (ages 5-18). I was also involved in the Maroon & Gold program, offering student-athletes services like helping at hospitals or running camps for children with life-threatening problems. I then went to grad school at Miami University in Oxford, Ohio studying Sports Leadership & Management. I also played football while focusing on helping at a daycare. In 2019, I moved to New York and worked as a live-in caregiver with a patient who has Cerebral Palsy. covid happened March 2020 and I moved back home for a year. During that time, I temporarily worked with a patient with ALS. Most recently, I moved back to New York in August 2021 and resumed my caregiver job with the patient who has cerebral palsy (2022). Hard to explain rest w/1000 word minimum!

Zay has been our after school sitter for almost 2 years now. Zay is amazing--friendly, responsible (never late, never sick), very calm, caring, clean (straightens up, takes out trash, doesn't leave dishes in the sink), my kids' love him. He exceeded our expectations in any task we gave him for the kids. He picked our kids up from school and took them home on the subway, made sure they did their homework (and helped them, particularly our youngest if they needed it), showered, practiced piano, etc. He took them to their after school activities. Zay did the kids' laundry (which was an expectation of the job). We also had Zay drive the kids a few times (he seems like an excellent driver). Zay is fit and athletic (he has a college degree in sports education, was a football player). He took our kids to the park and he helped teach our youngest to ride a bike. Zay has become like a family member (we've met his lovely fiancé, and his adorable nephew) to us and we highly recommend him. Additionally, I called and talk to his reference before he started the job who all highly recommended him.
