I like and enjoy caring for seniors because we have been taught by our Fijian culture that providing care and safety for our elderly members is paramount--most importantly, never to display disrespectful behavior. For me personally, caring for our elderly members teaches me to always be respectful and patient. The clients I have worked with in the past have taught me to be compassionate and empathetic as I have assisted them with their new challenges and struggles. My culture encourages us to be more mindful and to appreciate the simple things in life. I am looking for a job that has new challenges and to execute my skills to the best of my ability while making a positive impact. Isoa cared for my friend of 63 years, who was suffering from late stage Parkinson’s, for the last two years. I visited constantly, and I got to know him very well. I’m not one to write reviews, but Isoa was such an extraordinary caregiver, that I feel compelled to let others know. Isoa is a beautiful soul, who is compassionate, peaceful, kind, super strong, yet gentle in every way. He is genuinely loving and attentive, with a wonderful sense of humor, which was visibly uplifting to my dear friend. He was a true companion to her, as well as a caregiver. She often commented on how wonderfully he took care of her and how grateful and lucky she was that she had chosen him. There is not a doubt in my mind, nor was there a doubt in her mind, that Isoa made the last two years of her life bearable in spite of her condition, and I will be forever grateful to him.
