About Ixchel

I have one son who is now grown. Raising him was my greatest joy! I believe that when relating with other people of all ages it is deeply important to listen, to communicate respect, to treat them with warmth, dignity, compassion and empathy and to try to get to know them in an open and honest way, and to share one's self in the same way. I have been a teacher for over 35 years. While my son was young, I taught preschool. For all of my adult life, including now, I have taught ballet. In several of my mother's elder years, while she was confined to a wheelchair due to multiple sclerosis, she lived with my son and me. I helped in her care as well as assisting in the hiring and managing of her caregivers.
