Jahkayla was my son's full-time nanny from the time he was four months old (May 2023) until 19 months (September 2024). She was immediately amenable to and supportive of our parenting style and happy to care for our baby the same way we cared for him, including baby-wearing, utilizing cloth diapers, and engaging with Montessori-based toys and teaching materials. She is also CPR-Certified and did very well managing baby-led weaning. As our child got older and more mobile, Jahkayla spent a significant amount of time seeking enrichment activities outside of the home. Every day he went on a new adventure, everything from walks to the park to splash pads, pools, the Children's museum, Miller Park Zoo, and everything in between. Any feedback I gave to her was taken in stride and implemented immediately--it was very clear to me that Jahkayla was someone who I could trust and rely on to keep my son safe and cared for. She was also just a lovely presence to have in my home, which was really important to me given that I work from home and needed to interact with her a bit more than I would have if I worked outside of the home. The only reason she isn't still employed by us is that our family moved out of state. Jahkayla is a true blessing to our family and we are hoping that she will be a presence in our son's life forever. Jahkayla isn't just looking for a job--she is a children's caregiver because she LOVES this work, and that was apparent to me every single day and in every interaction she had with our child. As our time together began to dwindle, she even spent some of her own free time hanging out with our son, just to get some more time with him before we left; a true testament to the bond she formed with him. I would recommend her services to anybody and my only wish would have been to take her with us.
