About Janelle

Hi, I am Janelle, mother of two and an elementary school teacher for over five years. Throughout my time in the classroom, I have learned that the most important thing about teaching is understanding who the student is, not only as a learner but as an individual. No two children learn in the same way, and in order to create a successful and meaningful relationship with the subject at hand, it is my job to find fun and innovative ways for your child to connect to the material and learn, all while having fun. Working within the Upper East Side Private schools, I have become an expert in Responsive Classroom, a student-centered, social, and emotional learning approach to teaching and discipline. I have also mastered many other programs used amongst the independent schools, such as Handwriting Without Tears, Sounds in Motion, and much more. I am currently seeking an opportunity to work as a tutor to help your elementary school-aged child succeed in all areas of development.
