About Joseph

I have been a classroom teacher for almost 30 years and have been a paid tutor both privately and in learning center settings for the past 23 years. I'd describe my personality as outgoing, funny, and knowledgeable. I like tutoring because it allows me to help students who are struggling without the peer pressure and embarrassment that some students encounter in the classroom. I'm looking for a job that allows me to tutor in a warm, friendly, secure environment and be creative. I started tutoring in 2001, when my former sister in law had mentioned that her learning center was looking for teachers. In my spare time, I like to read. cook, go to the beach, write, and garden. My skills include time management, chunking of longer assignments, and finding alternative methods to help solve problems.
