Hello! I started tutoring again this year, having taken a break from software development. I have 3+ years experience tutoring students of all ages, from 7th grade to adult. I have a passion for problem solving and love helping others gain the confidence and skills to tackle complicated problems on their own. I tutored Algebra 1, Algebra2, Pre-calculus, Introduction to Statistics, English and Writing for 2 years at a junior college. I later spent 1 year as a visiting lecturer within the Computer Science Department at Boston College (BC). I developed a 3 week crash course in Java and taught and tutored Java and Data Structures(Computer Science II). I also taught and tutored simulation and modeling in Excel to BC management students. I just finished tutoring applied (college) statistics over the summer. I have a PhD in Computer Science (CS) with 25 + years software development experience. During the years I worked and obtained my CS degrees, I used all of the subjects I've tutored.

Julie's background in math, computer sciences, and statistics is very strong. She tutored my college granddaughter in a statistics course that my granddaughter was finding very challenging. Julie was patient and persistent, and she put a lot of work into preparing lessons that were helpful. She worked on note-taking with her and exam preparation. Julie communicated often with us about what our granddaughter needed to do. We were all very pleased with her work and would highly recommend her.
