About Julie

I have worked with children and animals for the majority of my life. I began babysitting when I was a teenager, participated in the Teens and Tots program in high school, worked with an autistic boy during college, and attained my Bachelors degree in Liberal studies with a minor in Elementary Education. After graduation, I had the pleasure of completing an internship in a primary school in Australia and then worked in Primary schools in the UAE for three years. Since returning to the US, I have worked in a preschool and I am currently a substitute teacher. I am currently enrolled in the Peace Operations program at GMU. After graduation, I hope to work in an NGO or non-profit that focuses on women and children in conflict situations. I have had animals for the majority of my life, and I am particularly interested in caring for horses. I have three horses at the moment (I previously had several others) and I enjoy taking care of their needs. I can work with any size or breed, and am comfortable with any age and training level. I have cared for newborn foals and the oldest I have worked with is my 26-year-old gelding.
