About Kara

Hey everyone, my name is Kara and I am a licensed general education teacher grades k-8, with a specialization in mild to moderate disabilities, and a masters degree in severe special education. Teaching has been my passion since I was a little girl. I always knew and wanted to be a teacher and I couldn't feel luckier that I am living my dream. I started as a paraprofessional while in college. Then, once I graduated I worked at a residential school for kids with Autism. I worked there for 5 years where I was lucky enough to receive my masters degree while working full time. After that amazing opportunity, I landed my current roll as a special education teacher for grades k-2. I currently specialize in social emotional and behavioral support. My passion is helping kids gain independence and confidence in their learning.
