I cherish all animals on an extremely deep level. I have extensive background knowledge of their behavior, physiology, anatomy, diet, and lifestyle. I excel at learning how they think, interpreting their actions, and detecting subtle changes in diet or behavior. I enjoy observing animals, but above all, I love caring for them. I would have become a veterinarian, but I love math as well, and I found the only way to connect these passions was to attend graduate school and describe underlying mathematical patterns in biology and nature. Past and current pets: Tortoises (Sulcatas), Box Turtles, Water Turtles (Red-Eared Sliders), Cats, Dogs (mostly Dachshunds), Guinea Pigs, Rabbits, Rats, Tiger Salamander, Iguana, Tripos, Various Freshwater Fish, Praying Mantis. I have completed animal safety training and certifications, in order to work in a neuroscience laboratory where caring for animals and reducing their anxiety was extremely important. In addition, I have shown pure-bred Dachshunds in dog shows, and I've raised 2 litters of puppies, 1 litter of kittens, and 2 generations of guinea pigs. MUSIC interests: Percussion, Hand Drums (Djembe, Conga, Djun Djun), Drum Sets (acoustic and electronic), Concert Band, (Timpani, Snare) and obscure, acoustic, culturally-specific instruments. Also: Singing, Lyrics, Poetry, Rhyme and Meter, Alliteration, Vocals; Keyboards, Synthesizers, Sound Effects, Arrangement, Remixing, Signal Processing, Drum Machines.
