My name is Lataya, and I'm a NY based journalist and producer. I was born an aunt (seriously, there's big age gaps between my siblings haha) so I hopped right in to caretaking. It is and always has been an effortless role for me to take on. I worked as a Boys & Girls club camp counselor for 3 years, their age groups ranged from 5-13. I am also a former foster kid who believes in the power of patience, encouragement and empathy. During my undergrad, I advocated for foster youth and took a few early childhood classes.
