About Lauren

Hi there! I am on a break from my Master's in Social Work from the University of Texas at Austin and am in Columbus helping my sister through an illness. I have worked with children in home, legal, and educational settings. Most recently, I worked for a court-appointed attorney for CPS cases, and conducted home visits to learn of child and parent needs to help advocate for their needs in court. I developed enriching activities to develop relationships with kiddos of all ages, including homework help and cooking lessons. I also served as a near peer mentor in a middle school, where my mentee, R , was moved from a remedial classroom to performing at grade level throughout the course of our relationship. I also provided extracurricular activities including science lessons, and enjoyed watching the kiddos gained a passion for learning. Throughout my undergraduate years, I worked for a family with an elementary schooler and provided homework help and extracurricular support.
