About Laurie

I am a 63-year-old woman with almost 25 years of experience as a Speech-Language Pathologist. I have spent my career working with preschool and school-aged children, and I love teaching and watching little ones learn! I give hugs and cuddles freely, and I am patient and nurturing. Although I may miss working with my students, I feel it is time to take on a more "care-giving" role. I have my own car and a clean driving record, and I am comfortable with pets (I have 5 cats of my own!). I am willing to do some light housework, such as laundry, if asked, but I am definitely not a great cook (I do make a mean PB&J!!). I go by the philosophy that children learn what they live, so kindness, respect and fun are all part of my bag of tricks. Yes, having worked with children for so many years, I do literally have a bag of tricks! I look forward to helping develop your little one (s) sense of curiosity and appreciation for learning, as well as providing a safe and secure environment for them!
