About Maranda

I am a lover, a dreamer, a wanderer, of many things. I'm currently a medical student on a gap year, intending to apply to a family medicine residency program this year. My interests are in birth work and end-of-life care, as I find myself gravitating towards both young and old beings on the life spectrum. I have been a nanny, babysitter, and tutor for years! I'm looking to care for a child or multiples part time, as a way to do meaningful and joyful work during my time away from school. As the eldest daughter in a single parent household, listening, responsibility, and patience are my second nature. I've found that being in a child and family's life has been mutually profound and creates lifelong relationships. I spent 2 years out of college as a full-time nanny, and have babysat for years from newborns through pre-teens. I am neonatal and adult CPR certified. I know that each family and child has different needs, and requires continuous patience to learn and re-learn them.
