About Maria

I have experience in nursing, as a nursing trainee, and I have a degree from the University of Georgia. I was the director of social services of a nursing home in Collegedale, Tennessee. This included duties as director of admissions, and writing care plans for the patients. I was in charge of proper placements for the patients. I was also a Spanish interpreter for the nursing home. I have a deep fondness for the elderly. I enjoy their wisdom and their stories of things past and present. I enjoy their laughter. I am also saddened, because of their loneliness that they feel. I feel a sense of pride that I can fulfill these needs. I have just acquired a patient with Alzheimer's disease. In the short time that I have been with him, I believe that I have made his quality of life better. I have played dominoes with him, taken him on long walks, and have had long conversations with him in Spanish and in English about his past and present. Best of all, I have been able to give his wife a break. I am an honest and respectful person. I have a deep compassion for the elderly and I will help them with their needs to the best of my ability.
