About Maria

Hi! I am a creative, trustworthy and caring individual. I have had many years of experience caring for my grandmother and transitioning her from her apartment to assisted living while going through dementia as well. These were tough times but I was willing to support her all the way through her journey. Also for one year I volunteered at Yale Hospital in the grimes center. There was some short term and long term patients here. Mainly the patients were all seniors. I would go early in the morning and read to them, watch the news, get them coffee. Then later I would take some out for walks or take them to the game room for entertainment. Also I would help support them with going to the bathroom or eating if needed too. Additionally before COVID I volunteered at Sinai Rehab Center and did pretty much the same things I listed above. I love provide hope and fun to an environment that sometimes be lacking that.
