About Maria

Hi! I'm Maria. I am a part-time preschool teacher and babysitter interested in providing support and companionship to the elderly in my community. I'm young and energetic and I have a passion for caring for others. My own grandparents are in their mid-80s and I visit them them regularly. Through them, I have experience with dementia, loss of hearing, and loss of some motor skills. I have developed the skills of listening and helping out in a gentle, light-hearted, and respectful way so as not to injure their sense of worth or independence. I am the 4th of 10 children in a homeschooling family (meaning we were always helping and babysitting one another) so I have much experience tending to and looking after others in the home. I am also a quick learner and innovative thinker: I'd love to collaborate with your family to meet your loved one's needs, whatever they might be.
