About Marissa

I worked for a year and a half as a Dietary Aide at an assisted living facility. Every day I had wonderful interactions with seniors and found it very fulfilling. After spending so much time with the residents they truly became a special part of my life. They told me about their families, lives, hobbies and I developed great relationships with many of them. Even though most of my work was focused in the kitchen my daily interactions with each resident was the highlight of my day. I loved hearing stories and the way they allowed me to become a friend. Aside from the work aspect I have a wonderful relationship with my grandparents. I was very close with my grandma before she passed and cherish the moments I was given to spend time with her. The most important thing I have learned in my experience with seniors is to be a friend to them. I love listening to stories, looking through old photographs, reading, doing puzzles and simply being someone they can count on.
