About Mary

Hello! I am one of 10 kids and that has given me a life time of playing with, caring for and working with kids, both my siblings and my nieces and nephews. I have been baby sitting since I was 12 years old starting with kids from the church I grew up in, both in large groups at church events and at homes. I have also baby sat for families in the community I grew up in; nannied one kid for a summer. Given that I am a part of a large family with a lot of kids, I can't help but adore kids! I believe and have seen that kids need interdisciplinary activities and communication that provide the social, learning, play, and discipline that every person needs in their formative years. I do not have specific experience with children with special needs but my 8-year-old nephew has several learning, speech and communication challenges; he's an angel and to get him to be happy and responsive I have brainstormed and created ways to engage his communication much more.
