About Maureen

I assisted my mother for over 2 years who suffered from several minor strokes with personal hygiene, prepared meals, and read to her, etc before she entered a nursing home. I have volunteered with an 80-year-old woman I adopted because she was in a room with my mother. After my mother passed away, I made several weekly visits for 2 years to assist her with eating, then when she was no longer able to eat, I was instrumental in helping her decide to get a feeding tube until she passed. I also assisted the hospital in identifying the body and assured she went to the proper burial site, which was her last request. This was when I discovered my passion for helping the elderly and children.
