About Maxine

I retired from my position with the federal goverment. at the end of August 2010 in order to move to Baltimore to be closer to my daughter after the death of my husband. I have been caring for her infant (now 14 months.) and 5-year-old two - five days per week since relocating. In several weeks, I will be sitting only two days/week (Mon and Wed), and would love to care for another infant/toddler. I enjoy children, love seeing the "light bulbs" go on, enjoy interacting with them, do not believe in tv babysitting. I see my role not only to ensure their safety, but be a source of stimulation through exposing the children to nature in their backyards, language development, hand games, singing, art projects, and so forth. The activities are geared to the ages of the children. The only requirement that I have is that it must be a smoke-free and cat-free environment, due to my allergies. I would also love to help a new mom adjust to caring for her new baby or care for her older child/children during the new baby transition period.
