About Maya

Hello! I'm Maya and I've been an educator and caregiver since 2017, with a belief in the child-centered approach! I began working at Union Temple Preschool in Brooklyn, NY for 3 years. My experience working at Union Temple Preschool as an assistant teacher granted me the opportunity to closely observe the various stages of childhood development for ages 2-5, and how it may vary for each child. With the experience and knowledge of an amazing teaching staff, I was able to learn how to guide with a gentle hand, observe with an open mind and teach with love. Each day I set a personal goal to learn from the children in my care and together we celebrated milestones and together we grew from challenges. In 2020, I moved to Jersey City and began working with my current family part time (3 kids, ages newborn - 8). As of early 2023 I started working part time at a preschool in Downtown Manhattan, where I have the amazing opportunity to work with children as young as 3 months!
