About Melissa

Hi! My name is Melissa and I have 9 years of experience, 5 years as a preschool teacher and 4 years as a nanny, working with children ranging from newborn to 12 years old. Over the years, I learned the importance of the relationship between children and their teachers and caregivers in developing their autonomy, sense of safety, social-emotional intelligence, creativity, and sense of self. I love watching children grow to be more independent and self sufficient. I enjoy taking children out on nature adventures, visiting the library, and exploring children's museums. While in the home setting, I love working on puzzles, reading books, building forts, and playing with blocks and lego's. I have experience providing family support with scheduling needs, carpooling, meal prep, and light household cleaning. My philosophy is that children should be heard and seen. Their voices and experience are important. I believe that every family has different values, expectations, and food philosophies.
