My husband and I hired Melisa part-time July 1 to help his declining 96-year-old sister with errands, companionship and any household or personal needs. They hit it off immediately, loudly cheering on the Backs and generally enjoying each other. However, within the week my husband's sister suddenly collapsed with her advanced cancer, and Melisa jumped in immediately to become her 24-hour in-home hospice care-giver. We could not ask for a more loving, attentive person to be our sister's companion and caregiver. We feel like she became a member of our family. Melisa truly loves caring for people in whatever capacity they need. Doing so seems to fuel her. We know she was an answer to prayer, an angel our Lord sent to be with our family for the short two weeks before our sister passed away.
