About Merlyn

I've enjoyed working as a long-term tutor with middle/high school and college students in areas of comprehension, organization (executive functioning), and homework in a range of subjects (i. e. algebra, intro Spanish, history, science with labs, English, writing). I've worked with three families from Care. com listings for an average of 2 years each. I took a pause during the pandemic, and in 2021 made a big move from Massachusetts to Virginia, and bought my first home in Richmond! I love this city and community - especially all of the great food spots. I have an MA in Developmental Psychology from Boston College, and an MFA in Creative Writing from Lesley University where I continue to work full-time remotely. I enjoy fostering relationships with students and finding the right combo of strategies to help them achieve and feel successful.
