About Michelle

Experience: 10 yrs

I am a very compassionate, loving, gentle and patient person. I am honest, reliable, friendly, trustworthy and caring. I moved here from MN about 14 years ago to help my sister with her then, newborn triplets. When I work with children I give them all of my love, energy and attention. Between babysitting, working at a Children's Museum and working as a full-time nanny, I have over 30 years of experience. I have been a full-time nanny for 9 years with a track record of meeting every milestone and children talking clearly before 2. 5 years old. The twins I nannied for could speak clearly around 12 months old. It is important to me to sing, read, play, encourage children to talk by explaining everything to them starting with infancy, then to use their words and practice fine motor skills, use good manners and help teach them to be patient, kind, caring, good listeners, the importance of helpfulness and build their emotional vocabulary. I have a great work history and awesome references.

When I had my b/g twins, I didn't know what to do with myself. I only had 12 weeks of maternity leave, and the thought of leaving my preemie babies in the hands of a perfect stranger was terrifying, so I decided to hire a caregiver prior to going back to work so I could spend time with her/him and establish a trusting relationship. From the minute I interviewed Michelle, I loved her and knew I had to have her working with my family. She began caring for my twins at 1 month, and in the last 2 years, she has become so much more than our nanny. Michelle is truly a trusted, cherished, and fiercely loved member of our family. She is one of the most loyal, kind, patient, and gentle souls, and she has transferred all of her wonderful values to my two fantastic children. In fact, we were thinking of starting the twins in childcare at 18 months to save money, but when I went to visit the prospective school, I was horrified to see how little individualized attention the children received. None of the kids were talking, and the activities left me wanting. My children have reached all milestones on time, if not early, and their vocabulary is staggering. I truly believe Michelle is hugely responsible for their ever-expanding intelligence and well-mannered natures. Truly, she never stops talking to them, asking them questions, engaging them in silly conversation, challenging them to solve age-appropriate problems/puzzles, and constantly giving them love and cuddles. One of Michelle's finest qualities, aside from her unwavering honesty, is her patience. Any parent of multiples knows you have to dig deep to find the patience necessary to get through the first six months to a year of twins, and that's when the babies are biologically linked to you! Nonetheless, Michelle stuck with us through the extremely difficult times (e.g., sleep training, nap transitions, introducing solid foods, bottle weaning, etc.) with grace, understanding, and above all, patience. I cannot stress how invaluable Michelle has been to our family, and I am deeply saddened to have to share her with a new family. As our twins transition to preschool, Michelle may no longer be our nanny, but she will always be a member of the family, and we expect to have her in the lives of our children forever! Other notes: Michelle is always on time and flexible when necessary Michelle sends me pictures of the kids playing throughout the day so I can feel included in their lives during my workweek. Michelle has excellent judgment and I have never questioned my kids' safety while the twins are under her care. Michelle is an excellent driver with a dependable car. We have trusted Michelle to do overnight sitting, so my husband and I could take a brief vacation. I promise you will not be disappointed if Michelle is your nanny. She's gold!
