About Monica

Hello, my name is Monica and thank you for your reviewing my profile. I'd like to explain my senior caregiver experience as well as my passion for care giving. I had informal training in care giving for my father who suffered a traumatic brain injury and required care when he was home. My training included range of motion, helping with medication, the feeding tube and overall personal care. I also assisted in the housekeeping at my parent's house during this time. But more importantly I provided my father with emotional support and companionship as well. I also spent many years with my elderly grandmother. She and I were very close and I provided companionship for her as well as helping her around the house and helping her with meal preparation. Although senior care giving is a challenging job, I believe if it's something you enjoy doing as I do the benefits strongly outweigh the challenges. It takes a certain kind of person to be a senior caregiver and I strongly believe I have the patience, positive attitude and compassion to do the job. I would treat the senior with the same compassion and care as I would expect my loved ones would be treated. Aside from senior care giving, I also was a nanny for 3 years. It was such a positive experience that the child I was a nanny for still keeps in touch with me. I recently completed 11 ECE units (early child education) as well. And aside from care giving, I also have 25 years of human resource experience at a construction company. Overall, I believe that I have a very positive attitude, and am a very compassionate person and I strongly believe I make a very good senior caregiver.
