About Nora
Hello! My name is Nora. I have a Masters degree in social work as well as a Masters degree in teaching and I hold a standard teaching certificate for the state of New Jersey. I currently teach at a charter school in Newark where 68% of my students met/exceeded proficiency on the PARCC exam compared to the state average which was 44%. I have taught 6-8 grade math and absolutely love the content. My philosophy regarding teaching math is not to teach rules/tricks but to develop problem solving skills through deep conceptual understanding so that students can persevere independently through rigorous content.
